Added this in a comment to your first spam-poetry piece.. it disappear. Two books consciously working the spam/IM spectrum from randomness to pathos: Kasey Mohammad's Deer Head Nation and Drew Gardner's brand new Petroleum Hat. Tony Tost is probably the first-guy-on-the-moon as far as academic writing on the subject goes.
Just putting it out there.
much appreciated, jordan. this is rather willy-nilly research, simply inspired by a simply inspired email, so i'm glad for folks to add to the pile.
i was curious to hear what "actual" (i.e., self-identifying) poets might think of these spamposters. the sheer novelty of word combinations seems somehow valuable despite the inherent absence of craft. so much for the tranquil recollection of overflowed emotion...
and nice essay in the voice, btw. i must have missed that one when it first ran.
