random question since you seem to know alot about dancehall and reggae and know one can tell me who the singer is: there's a rootsy song burning up the airwaves in NYC - the chorus says "in the streets is gettin' hot, and de youths dem a get so cold." Who is the artist?
that's richie spice, "youths are so cold," on massive b's relick of the "truths and rights" riddim. see here for details, audio clips: http://www.massiveb.com/catalog/truth.htm
interesting (if somewhat typical) that it's burning up the NYC airwaves only now, since it's been out for months.
Thanks for the specifics. I heard it months ago at reggae spots and on Massive B's Hot 97 show, but it now seems to be a favorite "Drive Time Mix" type of staple. It's only now being put into somewhat regular rotation.
