a lot of unpacking to do
more literally than metaphorically, but there's always plenty of the latter too, knamean.
still, i've finally reached the windy windy and am steady settling into my lil apt in the vibrant barrio of humboldt park. if the mango-con-chili we had at this weekend's "fiesta boricua" was any indication, this is a place with mucho sabor. i look forward to more.
be right back with mo' wax very soon. sorry for the extended wane. gotta get a proper internet connection first though. comcast, where you at?
!hasta pronto!

Here's wishing you smooth yachting, sir.
Welcome to Chicago. Make sure when in Humboldt Park to sample the "Jibaritos", a wholly Chicagoan-Puerto Rican sandwich that is as much of a tasty fusion as, say, reggaeton.
no doubt on the jibaritos, sr.avocado! i had one when i was looking for apts in the neighborhood and it pretty much sealed the deal. !que sandwich! definitely a must for any out-of-towners who come visit. i just have to avoid eating too many.
for those who don't know, a jibarito is a sandwich (whether of pork, steak, veggie, etc.) that substitutes fried plantain for bread. oh man oh man.
and thanks for the wind in my sails, 893!!
ah, waynito, I'm only catching up to your blogposts now. Have fun settling into Humbolt Park (it's lovely) and I will be a gentleman and make no salacious remark about the picture of the back of your head. =]
that's very kind of you, luis. if you only knew what my brothers used to call that hirsute asymmetry...
